It must be something like telepathy or I don’t know what xD But I’m happy because we’re having a nice competition and we’re not going against each other making war and all that stuff
So please, don’t ruin this balance
By the way, this is what I discovered during the afternoon…
I promised not to publish this news, but given the fact that hyperx is also working on it, I’ll publish it to avoid flames and whatelse…
Ok, guys, a new so far unsolved problem has now just disappeared!
YOU CAN NOW HAVE THE SAME THEME IN YOUR PHONE AND IN THE MUSIC PLAYER!!!
You know so far you were forced to have the same default theme in the musicplayer, you could only change the system theme, but the mediaplayer theme always remained the same default one…
NOW YOU CAN HAVE THE SAME THEME IN SYSTEM AND MUSICPLAYER AS WELL!!! ![]()
I’ll show you one example in the video!
MUCH MORE TO COME! ENJOY!!!
If you feel my effort and appreciate my work, please consider donating a bit
thanks ^_^

sarebbe fantastico se tu e hyperx lavoraste insieme! pensa cosa riuscireste a fare!
non accadrà hyperx ha sempre detto che vuole stare solo

You and HyperX ROCK! Thank you for keeping the i8910HD alive
you’re welcome
July 28th, 2010 4:14 am
it´s nice but i dont need something like that.
i hope you be able to integrate a keybord like the iphone but no dayhand or opera.
i dont understand that we got a perfekt hardware better then the N97, XM5800 or Iphone 3G (600mhz and 400mhz gpu same as the Iphone 3G S) but the I8910 is not smooth at work everything lag.
I have no solution to this at the moment, but maybe I’ll work on it

You are much better than Hypex. at least in moral. I know that you have great idea but andy has a better advertises about his works.
there are so many ideas that you can do. like call recorder, answering machine, call cheater, anti theft and anti virus software compatibilities, fixing flash files (swf) to work with hardware abilities like auto rotate in flash games(some of picobrothers products), vibration and more …
Sorry for bad English
thanks man

about call recorder, I made some progress about it
call cheater, I’m sincere, I won’t spend time on such things…
fixing flash, I have not solution to this at the moment… sorry

Hi Faenil
New Idea for you to work on: Ability to put the phone on loudspeaker at or before accepting an incoming call. This will be great. Is it possible ?
ehm…I don’t see any reason to spend time on it
why should it be so useful?
July 28th, 2010 11:54 am
@Armin
Agree with armin that you really have very very high morals….good be a nice human than an inventor…but you have both the qualities at same time….as i said before nice words in nicer way….great going, keep it up bro!
thanks bro

@ Adamvnz ~ August apparently.
July 28th, 2010 1:11 pm
Hmmmm. Skinnable Media Player doesn’t really float my boat tbh!
If it does the job it was designed for then, for me, it works. Just a different colour of the app’ isn’t really important as you don’t sit there looking at it all the time that you’re listening to music!
If HX will allow, I’d prefer you to inbuild a patcher app’ in order to auto turn on turbo or turn it off and change other things on the fly. The stability of your firmware with a functionality app’ like that would be fantastic.
I didn’t understand your first point…
btw, about the turbo, is that needed? 50mhz more? oh come on guys…
July 28th, 2010 2:03 pm
@Prozac69
well said, agree with you!
July 28th, 2010 3:02 pm
I’ve just recently flashed to n203 Faenil and it’s very impressive, I can’t believe how stable it is. I also love seeing these surprises you keep rolling out on here; I think your doing an absolutely fantastic job, keep it up!
thanks man
July 28th, 2010 4:51 pm
Same ideas is the word, implementations is different though, and I don’t believe in telepathy thing… I’m sure you’re getting my drift.
got it…
July 28th, 2010 5:36 pm
hi faenil where can i talk u…. not here in comments, as i think i had a good idea, something very easy and simple that u can easily put on ur cf. but according to me very useful.
you can find my email in the support section

Hi can you modificate panorama pic in camera mod, to biger pic its only 640×480, can you make 5 mpix or 8 mpix ?
I can’t
July 28th, 2010 7:44 pm
dude desperately waiting for ur n204 with fixed kinetic scrolling in music player…
I don’t have a solution to the ks in mediaplayer at the moment.
July 28th, 2010 7:56 pm
Just wondering if Skype will ever work with our phone?
Would be nice to see a modified version of Skype which did work with i8910
Thanks
we need samsung to update the firmware
July 28th, 2010 8:05 pm
I have an idea, instead of trying to add so many new mainly cosmetic features to our phone why not first work on those Applications which only work on Nokia and fix them to work on our Samsung i8910 phones……. Don’t get me wrong, all these new features which have already been added are GREAT and very useful,
but it would be a lot more helpful to be able to use ALL All s60v5 apps which work on Nokia like Skype, Call Recordering, Voice Dialing
and so many other apps which currently do not work with our phones.
Thanks
because we’re concentrating on things we CAN do…not dreams…
btw I already said I made some step forward re call recording
July 28th, 2010 8:05 pm
lol u will got the solution for fixed kinetic scrolling. just release ur firmware after new hx. simple.
lol
July 28th, 2010 8:09 pm
Misterjunky u r awesome. u exactly said wat everyone should say. i think all the applications r avaliable for nokia. but more than many apps dont work on our omnia hd.
i think somebody should try to put the x6 rom in our omnia hd. and i think x6 now hav multi touch web browser.
July 28th, 2010 8:10 pm
ciao mitico
si puo’ fare qualcosa per il vivavoce? tipo selezionarlo prima che rispondono oppure usando tipo il tasto centrale…
per il resto gia’ so che ci ristupirai
non saprei come fare al momento
July 28th, 2010 8:39 pm
Well, now it seems like a close competition… Reminiscent of Formula 1 and the stuff somehow
It will be really interesting to try both the upcoming fws.
But putting the lyrics aside, some questions bother me for some time already. Faenil, is it possible to implement a truly international fw? I mean, at least that it could render European, Asian symbols, Cyrillics and so on AT THE SAME TIME… And if the fw would have some means to input Japanese, Korean and Chinese symbols, that would be absolutely awesome.
Also, I support the idea proposed for quite a time already, to have a possibility of switching from full QWERTY to a numerical keypad on an accelerometer event. Meaning, in portrait you get the keypad and in landscape it switches to QWERTY. Isn’t it a great idea? Or is it just impossible to implement?
And the last question. Some time ago I bought the QO Acrobat Reader 2.5.496, but was unable to install it on my phone, getting the “Update error” no matter on which fw I tried (including the stock one) to. Can you possibly tell me what could be the reason? It’s an absolutely dumb situation: I have the license, but have to resort to a pirated version simply because the licensed one won’t install.
Since i8910 is SO SLOW working with .pdf, could it be at all possible to temporarily boost the CPU for 200-300 MHz or more (that would be useful not only for the .pdfs, you know
)?
Yet another question
I think it is possible to make such rom with all the characters inside…but I don’t think many people need it,..
July 28th, 2010 8:45 pm
To rock:
“and i think x6 now hav multi touch web browser.”
And I think that a dolphin was the first human on Mars… Let’s get real already, WE WON’T HAVE a multitouch on S60v5.
July 28th, 2010 9:37 pm
A quando tutte queste novità definitivamente? Ci sono possibilità per il voice call?
al momento non penso di lavorare sul voice call, però vedrò
July 28th, 2010 9:43 pm
In continuation of the Unicode topic: what if we could while being in Japan, China, or any country at all, just point the camera at a road sign (a shop signboard, a newspaper headline, you name it), click the shutter button and get the text there OCR’ed and put into phone’s clipboard for pasting it into a dictionary… Or just paste it right into the Google Translate widget and have a translation of the text a couple of seconds later.
Well, I’m not into Google Translate or any machine translation for that matter, but for the traveling folks who don’t exceptionally care about learning languages that could be a door to endless possibilities. Maybe this is implemented on some mobile platform already, but it would be nice to have such a feature on i8910.
are you kidding?
July 28th, 2010 10:23 pm
i’m on HX7 and i want to try faenil’s software!
QUESTION: after flashing my phone to n2o3, can i return to HX firmwares??
I appreciate your work faenil!! thnx
you can always flash any firmware you want to
July 28th, 2010 10:28 pm
Hello, you’re a legend!
Let me ask you: could you add codecs (wmv and mkv) to media player?
—–
Ciao, sei un mito!
Vorrei chiederti: potresti aggiungere codec (wmv e mkv) al lettore multimediale?
Non penso…non ho idea di come si faccia al momento
July 28th, 2010 11:02 pm
Hello Faenil. May you please try to make the following ideas possible please :
1- The call log not deleted after rebooting or switching off the phone.
2- Let us able to use call recording applications with i8910.
3- Let us able to use AntiVirus with i8910.
4- Let us able to use NOKIA applications & games with i8910.
5- Improve the video recording at nights.
1) it doesn’t get deleted in none of the case you mentioned…
2) I don’t think we’ll ever get a solution to this…
3) I don’t think I’m going to work on this, this is most probably a compatibility issue of the software
4) I’m not sure if we’ll ever find a solution to this..I hope so…but it’s not easy..
5) mmm, I don’t think there’s anything we can improve…
Regards
July 29th, 2010 1:25 am
Faenil:
So I guess the only way to get most all of the Nokia Apps to work with our i8910 is to get some kind of Nokia Emulator
ehheheh
July 29th, 2010 1:46 am
Wow, Faenil, this is so cool.
Please, please also do a Chinese localization.
Thank you so much!
I think I’ll make a chinese localization, but please give me some time, it’s not my first priority
July 29th, 2010 4:04 am
hehe reminds me of “Clash of the Titans” movie
though Awesome Faenl!! want you to nail it mate and be first at inventing, donation on the way
thank you man
July 29th, 2010 7:07 am
But what’s wrong with including the Unicode support anyway? Is it more difficult to realize it than to make different localizations? Well, if the support implies a major performance hit then it’s possibly not worth bothering… But if it works just fine and doesn’t require a lot of tinkering around with a fw, just what would you loose anyway? Maybe even a patch could provide such a capability. And there is a lot of Chinese people out there who just need an ability to read domestic sites. And there is at least one person, who would love to not only see East Asian symbols (meaning Japanese, Korean and Chinese) the way they are, but also to use a dictionary software with them.
full characters supports involves using 24mb of fonts!
instead of the usual 1.2mb
and the phone gets slower, it is already slower in chinese localization which needs 4mb fonts
July 29th, 2010 7:14 am
I wasn’t kidding about the “point-and-translate” feature either. Well, if there is no OCR software on Symbian capable of doing this then nothing can we do about it, but if there is one, that’s a whole different matter.
July 29th, 2010 7:42 am
I got so used to seeing new surprises everyday.. Today I didn’t find one
kidding!
But you’re doing some seriously good work Faenil.. You’re the man!
ahahha thanks man
July 29th, 2010 1:11 pm
Faenil, great to see those news from you!
If i8910 has those Qt libraries, will it be compatible with Nokia N8 (S^3) apps/games?
Another thing: I use Ovi Store on i8910 *but* lots of software (specially movies) are low quality made for low end S60v5 phones. On my old 5800XM Ovi Store automatically selected HQ movies, on i8910 it doesn´t. Any way to fix it?
theorically, S^3 games and apps will be compatible if written in QT
I have no idea about the ovistore hq thing…you could try changing your browser agent
July 29th, 2010 8:56 pm
24mb of fonts? That’s an insane amount %\ Too bad for Symbian then. As far as I know, in iOS you can choose whatever input languages (so, the Unicode rendering support comes naturally) you wish and switch between’em easily. I’m almost sure Android has this too… And neither of the latter two platforms seem to be greatly degraded performance-wise by this support despite having comparable (and even inferior) hardware. I guess I’ll have to switch to a more progressive platform then. Though, i8910 is still good for watching videos.
sorry…
July 30th, 2010 2:05 pm
Not at all, it’s Nokia and Samsung who should feel sorry about this any many other issues… You and Andy are doing your best (maybe in not so a cooperative manner, as many would like you to) to keep the sinking ship afloat.
thanks man
July 30th, 2010 2:09 pm
BTW, why does the captcha refresh SO frequently? I think that at least 5 mins before captcha renewal wouldn’t hurt anybody…:)
July 30th, 2010 3:21 pm
As for huge UNICODE fonts – it does degrade power of the phone to an extent btw… I know LG Cookie is not the strong ‘player’, but if you replace LG huge all-languages-unicode font with simple one you get ~30% boost in overall speed and reactivity – my kids cookie is flying atm…
July 30th, 2010 4:37 pm
To Fevves:
Well, at least one should have an option of easy switching from “normal” fonts to the Unicode ones and back, since getting 30% performance boost without Unicode support doesn’t mean you absolutely must not use it.
A touchscreen is a welcome feature for the apps that deal with hieroglyphic input. For example, kanji dictionaries (or any East Asian vocabulary dictionaries for that matter) and such. Those who learn the languages would appreciate the possibility greatly.

Chissà perché, ma la location di questo video ha un che di familiare

NICE!!, But anyway to skin Photo Contacts from it’s plain black view?? as well as Samsung’s 4 bottom icons in menu??

Grazie di aver usato un mio tema per il video!
