working on i8910tuning & n2o5 reboot loop

Category: Custom Firmwaresfaenil @ 12:17 pm

Hi guys :)

I’m adding some features to i8910tuning app ;) I think this will be its final release anyway ;)

Thank you very much for commenting, I’m looking into making your wishes come true, even if some requests are just impossible to accomplish :)

If you have any other idea, feel free to comment ;)

About n2o5: since many of you had problems with this “reboot loop” I have never experienced, I want to look into this, because it seems to be so random and only happens to some people! :)

So, please, I NEED A WAY TO CAUSE THE REBOOT LOOP! If you know the steps to force n2o5 into a reboot loop, please LET ME KNOW, and I’ll look into that and solve it asap! I need steps which will ALWAYS cause the reboot loop. I need something like:

“Make hardreset. Flash n2o5. Install n2o5musthave. Install this and this. You now have reboot loop”

This is very important, I want to make the firmware the most stable, because it’s probably the last firmware you’re going to get from an i8910 firmware cooker :)

Licence keys for Xplore and LCG Jukebox for those who will help in this way! :)

This afternoon, wallpaper contests will be selected, and keys will be sent, so please check your emails if you think you can be the one to get them! :)

OK I must Say great firmware. Loving since last time installed.
Have information about 2 Applications untill now which cause sure reboot…..

    1. As soon as install Joikuspot 3 or version 2.5 made for nokia —- It will give reboot loop. But on the other side this problem solved by version 2.5(883) release.

    2. Last time I get reboot loop when unlocking all the files supplied under tweeks softwares ( It was due to plugin of menu ). I clicked Menu plugin and phone asked to restart and restarted into loop. But many times it could happen with other plugins of tweeks. So i have not installed now after reinstalling firmware.

    3. Well known error of Smart Backup. So I use UC backup 1.1 Now….

    4. Other errors noted :-> After installing about 30 softwares, In seting:->application:->installed apps:->options:->suite setting for java file (View detail for sis file):-> Gives memory full even when 144 MB still left in ram.

Hopefull bluetooth file mod will be added in tuning software ….
On ideas Why don’t you include backup software in tuning app ?
It would be a complete Modder suite then.

Also Is there any way to not format drive E while Firmare install or phone format ? As i can take care of garbage left from old firmware..

    Hello,

Just one thing, when I launch the I8910tuning app, the windows of the apps is closing to the app menu and after 2 secondes the apps windows i8910tuning app reopens.

It is a little strange, so I don’t know if you can solve it.

So thank you very for all of your work, I hope more cooking roms ;)

  6. anup.future says:

yes, the i8910tuningapp has a delay when opening. i also face the same problem in n205. please correct it.

    • faenil says:

don’t you think you’re going a bit too far with this?

I mean you’re complaining because of a longer app opening time?

An app needs time to load, especially when it has so many graphics elements, and smooth UI…

    • ko4444 says:

hello you have to install the normal qt package (4.7.3) and save it C: not the repacked one who saves everything on E: .then theres no delay when you start the app.

    Hey Guys,
where is the problem with i8910tuning app??
This app loads in this way and works very fine, where is the problem??
Anyway I’ve deleted C:/Sys/bin/domainsrv.exe and C:/sys/bin/boot1.exe and now everythings works perfectly. No more loops in reboot and in recharging battery.
According to me the problems are with startbackup, but it is not important for me(use ovi backup)
    Thanks Faenil.. :D
    Diego

    Greetings from Portugal
A good day to you, Thank´s for your wonderfull firmware i have it for 3 days i upgrade it from n2o3 so far i´m very happy very fast even with underclock active.
I have a little request, I use my Auto brightness in off position and the Brightness level in Min position, at night in bed i use your i8910tuning to put Brightness LowLight on when in the next morning i put back Off the LowLight it doesn’t return to Min light in the Brightness level as before but to a medium position in the scale of Brightness level scale.
thank´s in advance if you can resolve this.

    tutto qua

  11. hemmie says:

    Hello Faenil;

I don’t this being asked before, but I have an issue with WLAN. somehow with your custom firmware there is wlan called EASY_WLAN which always comes, how to delete this from coming up as it is not any wlan I connected before.

Here’s the issue real issue though when I have SPB Shell installed and want to have Weather updated automatically with WLAN (not from cell network), it does not work. When I try a manual update it always prompt to two wlans one is your and the other one is this EASY_WLAN which somehow has a profile created in with n2o5.

May be just may be if I able to remove this EASY_WLAN configuration from getting detected by SPB then it might update automatically as it does not have to prompt for two networks.

    Thanks

well for me the reboot loop occurred when I installed n2o5 with support for custom flash homescreen on e:\
then installing need for speed shift , after playing for some times I exit the game ad the phone crashed
    and entered The loop .
and even I could not reset it anymore so I entered bootloader menu and this time flashed the normal version
of n2o5 and since then no problem at all

a me lo fa 7 volte su 10……ho visto che premendo il tasto menù durante i riavii….parte….spero di esserti stato utile!

  14. nomi49 says:

Keep your phone on. Plug in the charger and switch the phone off while charger is still plugged in. You’ll have that lovely reboot loop. :)

  15. gewwilson says:

i have experience a reboot loop this morning, i open the startbackup and disable it, quit and reboot, then the reboot loop happen and i remove the battery and restart the phone twice then it become normal

  16. JunkyPT says:

    Hi faenil,

Just want to say i liked a lot the firmware, but I’m back on my other custom fw, this one doesn’t show keyboard, dunno why… i’m not talking about swype, but the default keyboard.

  17. JunkyPT says:

i did read all instructions, and made 3 flashing attempts, with prior hard reset, with language pack after… something is just wrong

  18. Hotstepperk says:

I’m not sure on the reboot steps, but all I know is I can’t switch off my phone/let the battery die down completely because of the same problem.

Anything I can do to help resolve this?

  19. gasmas says:

Hi faenil i must say you have done a great job all these years.I just uploaded n205 to my phone and it allways says system eror, i give pin code then it opens and says system eror and again pin code etc. Any ideas on how to make my phone work again? Thanks again for the great stuff you gave us.

  20. aadilh says:

Hi, I have found that the OVI store causes my phone to reboot loop. Since removing & running all installs, I can pretty much use most of my normal software. Most people will want OVI store & have it installed, perhaps try removing the store if you have the loop & see what happens.
