How to enable Nav3D!! :)

PREREQUISITES: IN N2O2 YOU WILL NEED NO PATCHES, NO FILES, NO SIS TO REACTIVATE NAV3D, ALL YOU NEED IS 5 MINUTES!! πŸ™‚

Hi guys,

this evening I’m going to show you a nice feature of my rom…

in n2o2 I have not removed any file regarding nav3d, I just kept it disabled by system tweaks, allowing some RAM to be freed πŸ™‚

SO, in n2o2, you will be able to GET YOUR NAV3D BACK!! Even if n2o2 is a seminaked rom!! πŸ˜€

Here I’ll show you how πŸ˜‰

1) Download ActiveFile

2) Download JBak Taskman 1.18 and install it with AUTOSTART option πŸ˜‰

3) Open ActiveFile, go to Z —> sys —> bin

4) Scroll down untill you see the file Nav3DApp.exe (you’d better move with the bar on the right πŸ™‚ )

5) Hit Options –> File —> Open πŸ˜‰

6) Now you have nav3dapp RUNNING πŸ™‚

7) If you want it to start at every startup, open Jbak Taskman after you have started Nav3DApp.exe

8) Hit Tools—> Chunks , and look for “Nav3DApp”

9) Select the last file, hit Menu—> Program Rules —> Put the tick on AUTOSTART

10) Select the last but one file , hit Menu—> Program Rules —> Put the tick on AUTOSTART

11) There you go πŸ™‚ Now you have nav3d back … πŸ˜€

NOTE: YOU WILL HAVE MYMEDIA ON LEFTSWIPE –> WHEN YOU FINISH TO USE MYMEDIA DO NOT HIT EXIT, JUST SWIPE BACK TO THE HOMESCREEN
NOTE2: ACTIVATING NAV3D AND MYMEDIA WILL COST YOU LOTS OF RAM: YOU WILL END UP WITH 140Mb ram, in NOTASK3D VERSION

  1. yeeeahhh!!! Now i feel a litle bit n00b!!! 😳 😳 lool

Where i can download ActiveFile and JBak Taskman 1.18 files? 😐

    Tks! πŸ™‚

    Ok I’m adding links πŸ™‚

  2. Hi,

THanks again with your wonderful work.

I have one question about the “MoreWidget2” in the samsung widget theme. Everytime i dragged out moreWidget2 . It will disappear in the desktop. when I tried to tap on that location where the widget is supposed to be, there is no response.

However, I can still drag the morewidget2 back to the widgets bar.

Is it a known problem with the original Samsung firmware?
    Any workaround?

    Thanks so much.

    Yeah morewidgets has been removed…

  3. Faenil

What about battery use of 3dnav its make some diference have it activated or this depends of just of what kind of program you put in 3dnav?

For example a want to use it with video player in left side and PhotoFlow in the rigth side.

I’m sure that may question is the question of many, what your opinion?

of course battery life will be less if you have heavy applications running….

  4. Well, wont this procedure make JBak start every single boot? I think I prefer a patch! πŸ˜₯
Anyway, thanks for the hard work, nice job with those roms!

sorry man I thought this was a great idea…

  5. Does anybody know if you can have this application open up by default for new messages? In other words, when you click “1 New Message”, can you have the Conversation app open instead of the default SMS app?

  6. I have been using n2o2 since Saturday, superceeding my own custom firmware based on JB1, and I am most impressed. I do, however, miss the Nav3D functionality.

I was wondering whether you could put up a poll about integrating Nav3D back into the next revision of this firmware? Personally I would prefer to keep this functionality irrespective of the memory cost, and prefer it to be cooked in rather than as an add-on.

Additionally, does anyone really care that much about memory usage? After all, the i8910 after booting & including Nav3D has more free RAM than the TOTAL amount of any Nokia S60 5th edition phone!

I can’t add it to n2o2, because it is a seminaked firmware πŸ˜‰
    by the way,
Nav3D = Less Ram & Cpu Usage —> Less battery life

  7. I do care as my phone is acting really faster with 170MB of free RAM confronted to 120-130 MB. It’s not just my impression. Everything works pretty faster if you have more free RAM.

Let me just remind you that Nokia S60v5 phones are much more optimized to run on slower HW and that is the main reason they can apparently run a just a little subpar confronted with i8910. Our phone need a lots of optimizations and tweaks to start acting at 70% of its real power with all those tweaks we have. Just think about Samsung really optimized it to the top… it would have been the beast we all wanted it to be. Then we could have all those stuff (3dtaskman, 3dnav, photocontacts etc.) included without compromising a lot, and almost none would complain.

Though I would suggest faenil could open the pool on these and then do special version of his n202 with this modification and call it n2o2-3DNav or similar. I guess all would be happy that way – people who want their phone free of those and also people who’re after eye-candy stuff.
But there is one big problem with this for faenil himself – he would have to do all localized versions too and that is rather time consuming job.

nothing more to say, read fevves’ comment πŸ™‚ especially the last lines

  8. I understand Fevves’ comment – I certainly don;t want to burden you with more work (especially localisations, as I suspect this is as boring as hell!). I’d just be interested in the results of a poll personally.

  9. That is wonderfull!
    Thx to You!

But, maybe You can do the same to activate photocontacts?
If posible to that simple activate photocontacts?

yes I’ll make a guide on how to activate photocontacts and get it back in nav3d πŸ˜‰

  10. Thanks for this instructions worked great first time.

One of the other things I miss from this firmware is the Compass (suspect I’m one of few!) Using the same method going into sys/bin I can see compass is in there and using file open it works so it seems the only thing missing is the icon in the LBS folder to link to it from the menu. Is there a way to get this back?

the compass icon is in Tools man πŸ™‚ it is not in Samsung LBS…and I didn’t remove it… Hope you’re happy now πŸ˜€

  11. yey! finally nav3d! can you make a tutorial section on your website? I personally need a tutorial on how to change n202 original effects to the speed effect of joker. i’ve tried to follow other websites instructions but it doesn’t work on N202. Thanks! Awesome job! 😎

Look on top of the page…there are 3 tutorials…and one is for kastors πŸ˜€

  12. Dear faenil,

Im not able to enable NAv3d as I cant find any Z:/Sys-Bin in my active file application. When i got in to active file I cant c any sys-bin folder in Z drive. Any one who knows Kindly help me… i want nav3d. Im using this user friendly N202 FW for past 1 week.

maybe you didn’t download activefile from the link I gave you πŸ™‚
maybe you’re not using the manufacturer’s edition πŸ˜‰

  13. Faenil I downloaded the Active file version wat u said.. yeah its wrkng properly… U Rock man…… πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰

    wonderful πŸ™‚

  14. Thanks for your note about the compass above – me being stupid! 😳

Just an observation I’ve noticed with this which may or may not have an impact on anything. As a user of the ‘basic’ theme I use the option to click the date to change profile from general to silent, meeting etc. There were lots of comments on a previous Hyperx firmware that selecting different profiles required a longer tap e.g. 2 seconds or so rather than being instant.

I noticed with your firmware that changing the profile was instant just like it used to be (and should be) on installing the 3d menu it has gone back to requiring a tap+hold for a few seconds.

Not expecting you to do anything about this as I suspect it is all linked into the various components but thought I’m mention it as something for you/others to be aware of that is is an (unintended?) concequence of activating the 3d navigation.

    Cheers

thanks for the head up mate πŸ™‚

  15. Is it possible to activate the photocontacts by the same process? And how can i put them on the nav3d just like the orange firmware?
Do you have any fix tho the priximity sensor not working? In the secret menu it works good, but in the calls and menus is not working (N2O2).
Aside that two problems to me this firmware is excelent, fast and bug free (by the way, the only cooked one that i found with portuguese  )
    Thanks in advance.

if you install IWantNav3D you’ll have photocontacts on left swipe πŸ˜‰

the proximity sensor is working perfectly…

  16. I noticed that the proximity sensor was working after all, don’t know why it wasn’t working on the first time. πŸ™„
I tried to flash to the n2o2 version without the 3dtask, with the KS (to make al the things right), installed the IWantNav3d (not the one with 3dtask) and surprise, there it was again the my media thing on the left πŸ™ tried the method above again, hopping it would fix it, nothing, still the same, no photo contacts at all. Is sad because i used them a lot.
Is there any way to uninstall the My Media thing? Or to go around this problem?
by the way, used the “n2o2_port_KSMENU_NOTASK3D” firm (just for your reference).
    Thanks for your help.

    you should use n2o3 with port_langpack πŸ™‚ n2o2 is older πŸ˜‰
